It is because of your support that we can give families hope, healing and support. Our organization is small and strong … just like our children! With your support, we can provide:
Financial and Educational Support
For many families having a child diagnosed with cancer is an enormous financial strain (one or both parents may need to leave their jobs to care for their child). The end result can be an inability to meet even the most basic daily expenses. The financial support programs are designed to provide emergency funding and are utilized when all other options have been exhausted.
Accommodations
Papa Ken’s House, the Kids with Cancer Society’s accommodation facility, is available when no other options exist. It gives out-of-town families free accommodations during treatment and follow-up appointments.
Investment in Pediatric Oncology Research
In recognition of the need to improve the outcome of children with cancer both today and for the future, funds are available to support the research infrastructure. This includes purchase of new equipment and supporting innovative research projects, as well as the The Muriel and Ada Hole Kids with Cancer Society Chair in Pediatric Oncology.
Counselling Services
Having a child diagnosed with cancer may be the greatest challenge a family will ever face. In the blink of an eye their lives change forever. They enter a world of unknowns, uncertainty, and fear. Having a qualified and empathetic professional to talk to is vital to provide guidance, resources and assurance.
SURVIVORSHIP SUPPORT
We recognize the needs of survivors continue to grow. One of our goals is to establish programs that will meet their needs. Check back for updates….
